Abutilon: watercolour painting by Kay Craig, 2001 [1 of 17]
Abutilon
I noticed a flash of red in Gwen's garden one day and realized it was an abutilon. I was so entranced by the richness of the red that I decided to paint it. She has several other lovely varieties which I am intending to paint in the future. Abutilons originally came from South America and have been hybridized to create a wonderful selection for gardeners. They are hardy and can be easily raised from cuttings - so Gwen tells me.
