Dragonflies are exquisite creatures with their long slender bodies and gauzy wings. They are also very fast. This beautiful red bodied and wing-tipped one was painted from a photograph. Dainty and gorgeously exotic, they have a fairylike quality which is enhanced by the way light glints through their wings as they dart across the water in which their nymphs (young) develop.
