Kalanchoe: watercolour painting by Marion Shepherd, 2006 [14 of 14]
KALANCHOE THYRSIFOLIA "Flapjacks"
This plant is a member of the Crassula family which live in diverse habitats. They range from desert dwellers to water plants. Kalanchoe thyrsifolia has large round flat leaves which grow flat against each other and develop red margins in the sun. It is very decorative especially with its powder dusted blue-grey "bloom". This particular plant grows in a large terra-cotta pot in an Adelaide back garden where it thrives.
